The group was founded by Lorna Thomas in February 2010 through her involvement with the Rotary Club of Fleet.


Rotary has always had a strong commitment to the local community and under their banner the original aim was to foster relationships between local businesses. Significantly different from other networking groups the Rotary Fleet Business Breakfast flourished. The group continued to evolve and in Autumn 2013 it became a standalone, independent business networking group under a new name: the Fleet Business Group.

Lorna (Director, Ripple Solutions) continues to be an avid promoter of business in the Fleet & District community and enlisted the help of a number of “helpers” to develop the group in its new guise. This website was part of that work (provided via Caboodle Design), as was the video for the group (provided by Insight60), with additional input from a growing band of additional helpers (from assisting with the Registration Desk, to meeting and greeting new visitors to the group).

The “new look” group saw a sustained increase in numbers and we now regularly attract a full house of 45 business each month, due in no small part to a convivial atmosphere that combines fun and banter with informative, thought-provoking  presentations.

We’re here to help new and established businesses alike, so whether you’ve been in business for two weeks or twenty years you’ll find a warm welcome in the room.

There is no membership scheme to think about either…you simply receive a regular monthly email reminder so you can book your seat via Lorna.

Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Oat Sheaf pub in Fleet, Hampshire, starting at 7:30 a.m. and finishing by 9:00 a.m. At just £12 per meeting it’s great value too.
